Advice for Students

My advice for future students: Don't be intimidated.  There is no reason to fear this kind of writing.  If you're going into IT, you're going to be reading many, many technical documents, and you'll get used to the tone in a hurry.  The best way to get better at writing of this kind is to find a document which was really effective to you, and try to isolate the strategies the author used in creating the document.  Then, simply apply those strategies to your own writing.  You'll find it come easier and easier every time.
